Since 18.11.2021 the harmonized standard EN IEC 63000:2018 replaces the European standard DIN EN 50581:2012 and supports the RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (with exemptions). This aims to address various applicable restricted substances regulation worldwide while ensuring the same approach from manufacturers everywhere. The new standard also updates the normative reference in EN 50581:2012.
