... for the next generation of industrial RISC-V platforms

"The success of RISC-V will not be determined by processor architecture alone," Pedro Lopez, CEO Quintauris.

RISC-V is rapidly evolving from an open instruction set architecture (ISA) into a robust platform for industrial and automotive applications. As this evolution continues, the requirements for the surrounding ecosystem are also changing. Success is now defined not only by processor performance alone, but also by seamless development environments, standardised interfaces, and close hardware, software, and development tool integration.

Against this backdrop, Quintauris has strategically expanded its international technology ecosystem during the first half of 2026. New collaborations spanning automotive software, processor IP, development tools and simulation reinforce the company's platform approach, creating the conditions for the faster, more interoperable deployment of RISC-V in safety-critical embedded and automotive applications.

"The success of RISC-V will not be determined by processor architecture alone," says Pedro Lopez, CEO of Quintauris. "It depends on how effectively hardware, software and development tools work together as a unified platform. That is exactly what we are building together with our partners."

Technology expertise across the entire development stack
The collaborations announced in the first half of the year will strategically strengthen the Quintauris ecosystem across the entire technology stack.

Through its collaboration with Elektrobit, Quintauris has enhanced the software layer of its ecosystem. This partnership provides extensive expertise for developing open platforms for software-defined vehicles. This allows OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers to integrate RISC-V-based architectures more efficiently into next-generation vehicle platforms.

At the hardware level, the collaboration with Nuclei System Technology expands the portfolio to include high-performance RISC-V processor cores for real-time and automotive applications. Integrating these cores into the RT-Europa platform provides additional options for standardised, interoperable system architectures.

Quintauris has also improved its development environment by collaborating with Ashling to integrate advanced debugging and development tools that support engineers throughout the entire software lifecycle, from initial implementation through to system validation.

This approach is further strengthened by the introduction of the EM-Altair Profile Specification. This defines a standardised RISC-V execution environment for microcontroller-class embedded systems, providing the basis for long-term binary compatibility across different implementations. By specifying mandatory ISA extensions, privilege models, and system-level assumptions, the EM-Altair profile reduces fragmentation across the embedded RISC-V ecosystem and simplifies the development of portable software.

Together, these collaborations extend Quintauris' existing platform activities and demonstrate the step-by-step development of an open industrial ecosystem. Rather than relying on isolated point solutions, Quintauris is creating an integrated technology stack that supports developers with everything from processor architecture and software toolchains through to simulation and system validation.

Interoperability is key to industrial RISC-V adoption
"Interoperability does not happen by itself," Lopez continues. "It is the result of common standards, close collaboration and an ecosystem in which complementary technologies work together seamlessly. Our goal is to establish exactly this foundation for the industrial adoption of RISC-V."

Sharing knowledge to accelerate innovation
By continuously expanding its partner network, Quintauris is emphasising its role as an enabler of an open and interoperable RISC-V ecosystem. At the same time, the company is committed to knowledge sharing to make it easier for others to enter the open architecture. To this end, the Quintauris-UGR Lecture Theatre has been set up to promote an understanding of RISC-V technology and its crucial role in enabling the development of next-generation hardware. Through courses offered in collaboration with the University of Granada, such as ‘Introduction to RISC-V’, developers and technology decision-makers can gain a practical overview of the architecture, its  growing ecosystem, and its potential applications in industrial applications.

RTI Connext TSS - Basis for Future Avionic Systems

Real-Time Innovations (RTI), the software framework company for the ‘Smart World’, has released Connext TSS 4.2.0 for use in production. This latest version will form the basis for developing  future avionics systems. It also provides essential architectural enhancements that support the Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) and the Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSA). These approaches are becoming increasingly important in the development of modern land vehicles, too.
