First Rutronik AI3 Award goes to Dryad Networks for unique global forest protection

Dryad Networks was honored at the Rutronik AI³ Connect event for its AI-based forest fire protection system. The innovative gas sensor detects fires within minutes based on fire gases. It is self-sufficient, maintenance-free, and scalable. Dryad Networks stood out among ten projects from Rutronik customers, impressing the judges with the highest score. The company impressively demonstrates how intelligent technology can protect people and nature.

The Dryad Networks team received the first Rutronik AI³ Award during the Rutronik AI³ Connect gala on October 14. This award recognizes outstanding customer projects that demonstrate a high degree of intelligence through innovative AI solutions. Specifically, Dryad impressed the jury with an AI-supported gas sensor that detects forest fires within minutes based on fire gases. The system is self-sufficient and maintenance-free for over ten years. It is also cost-efficient and scalable, offering a unique solution for global forest protection.

The jury evaluated ten AI-related projects from Rutronik customers based on eight criteria, including degree of innovation, novelty, disruptive potential, use of intelligent algorithms, AI at the edge, and sustainability. Dryad's solution received the highest overall score in the selection process. "Dryad combines technological excellence with social relevance. The project impressively demonstrates how AI and sensor technology can contribute to protecting people and nature — smart, sustainable, and impactful,” the jury concluded.
