Smart infrastructure from March 10 to 12, 2026—new location, same excellence
This year’s appearance of Rutronik Elektronische Bauelemente GmbH at embedded world 2026 (March 10–12, Nuremberg) is fully dedicated to “Smart Infrastructure”: connected, intelligent systems that make markets such as industry, energy, building automation, mobility and smart cities more efficient, secure and sustainable. As a technological enabler, Rutronik will demonstrate in Hall 1, Booth 1-631 how scalable solutions are created through the interaction of high-performance semiconductors, advanced connectivity and intelligent software – enabling stable supply networks, resilient infrastructures and real-time, data-driven decision-making.
Two demos will be the main focus of the interdisciplinary experts from Rutronik System Solutions:
- Automated reading and digitization of analog water meters using AI-based image recognition combined with radar-based level measurement. This demo was implemented, among other components, with the PSOC™ Edge MCU from Infineon. Potential target applications include automatic leak detection during absences, continuous monitoring of water consumption and early alerts in the event of anomalies. This helps prevent damage, reduce costs and conserve resources – in both private and industrial environments.
- Radar-based lighting control for smart cities: Using a Nordic MCU, EVIYOS™ LEDs from ams OSRAM are controlled efficiently and activated zone by zone precisely where people are present. This increases safety in public spaces while significantly improving energy efficiency. In the long term, municipalities benefit from substantial savings in energy consumption and maintenance costs.
A key highlight is the recently launched Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 3 processor family (“Panther Lake”), which is presented via video content at the Rutronik counter. The processors are considered “edge perfect”, combining efficient hybrid compute, industrial-grade robustness and long-term availability with dedicated AI acceleration. Equipped with Intel® NPU 5, they deliver up to 50 TOPS of AI performance, enabling fast, local inference for vision, analytics and automation—without cloud latency. Thanks to their reliability, the processors are ideally suited for embedded and industrial edge applications.
In addition, two demo counters showcase Intel®-powered edge solutions in real-world scenarios:
- A demo based on Intel® Core™ Series 2 processors (formerly “Bartlett Lake”), featuring the Intel® Core™ 3 processor 201EF for embedded applications, demonstrates scalable edge AI performance with long-life availability and flexible platform designs. The setup is complemented by the Intel® Arc™ Pro B50 GPU, delivering professional-grade graphics performance, ISV-certified drivers and dedicated hardware for AI, ray tracing and media processing combined with low power consumption.
- A second demo highlights an industrial low-power edge server powered by the Intel® Xeon® E-2434, a processor providing secure, reliable and responsive computing for business-critical and industrial edge applications.
The FPBB RAIL DIN rail filter combines EMI filtering, overcurrent and overvoltage protection in an ultra-compact design, providing maximum device protection close to the power input. The particularly slim FPAC RAIL filter series, with a width of just 44 mm, is designed for industrial applications up to 520 VAC and meets demanding requirements in terms of temperature range and certifications. The portfolio is complemented by the DIN Rail FSO fuse holder for high-performance DC applications up to 1000 VDC, enabling safe and fast fuse replacement during maintenance. In addition, SCHURTER offers a broad range of PCB components for power supply applications, including fuses, EMI filters and chokes, as well as appliance inlets and combined elements.
In addition, the distributor showcases a broad range of products from leading embedded manufacturers such as Apacer, ATP, Intel, Kontron, Nordic Semiconductor, RealSense, Swissbit and Transcend.
