Rutronik Supports Team at the “Stafet for Livet” Anti-Cancer Run
Similar to last year, Rutronik is once again joining in the fight against cancer by supporting the “Greve Trim” running club at the “Stafet for Livet” race (“Relay Race for Life”) in Greve, Denmark, from August 18–19.
In 2017, the running club supported by Rutronik raised 11,000 euros for the fight against cancer. A total of 1,500 runners on 33 teams took part in the relay race in Greve, and together collected 74,000 euros. The “Stafet for Livet” relay race, which takes place on both days in numerous cities throughout Denmark, lasts 24 hours. Participants walk or run the entire time to draw attention to the fact that cancer patients have to fight the disease every second of their lives. Some of the runners, known as “fighters,” wear yellow T-shirts to show that they either have cancer or have beaten the disease.
The “Stafet for Livet” is held nationwide and is organized by the Danish Cancer Society. It will also receive the donations collected from the race. Rutronik learned about the event from an employee who runs for the “Greve Trim” team.
“Cancer is an insidious disease,” says Thomas Rudel, CEO of Rutronik. “Every euro invested in research and fighting the disease helps. That’s why we’re happy to support the ‘Relay Race for Life.’”
