Retired US Air Force lieutenant general joins as Simulation Market Advisor

Real-Time Innovations (RTI) announced Lt Gen Thomas Baptiste as the newest member of RTI’s advisory board.

Baptiste joins RTI’s advisory board as the Simulation market advisor, where he will help increase awareness around the many benefits virtual training and simulation can bring to the military and IIoT markets including aviation and healthcare.

Thomas Baptiste:

  • President and CEO of the National Center for Simulation (NCS)
  • world-renown simulation strategist
  • retired United States Air Force lieutenant general
  • more than 30 years of military experience
  • last served as the deputy chairman of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Military Committee in Brussels, Belgium.

At the NCS, Baptiste strives to expand awareness of modeling and simulation for training and other applications. NCS addresses the military, healthcare, transportation, education and technology sectors. He works towards making simulators more realistic, exciting and engaging. Future simulators will blend synthetic training with live training and interact with live players.

RTI provides the ideal connectivity framework for training and simulation applications and has experienced rapid growth in this Industry. RTI Connext DDS is proven in hundreds of the world’s most mission-critical system designs, such as

  • the National Advanced Driving Simulator
  • the U.S. Army Synthetic Training Environment (STE) Program

  • RTI has also partnered with VT MAK, the leading developer of modeling and simulation software, to demonstrate interoperability between HLA Federations and DDS-based systems.

Baptiste will join inaugural advisory board member, Scott McNealy, Automotive advisor KT Neumann, and Energy advisor Raiford Smith, to identify strategic growth opportunities and expand RTI's influence in the IIoT.
